Live flight tracking website launched
9th March 2010
Have you ever wished you could follow the real time progress of a loved-one’s flight to the UK? Are you curious to see the routes flights take between different European cities? Well now you can thanks to new flight tracking website RadarVirtuel.
Created by a group of aviation enthusiasts, RadarVirtuel uses Google maps to plot and monitor the progress of flights across Europe with a delay of only four minutes. By logging on you can filter information based on type of aircraft, callsign, airport code or airline and view the fascinating results instantly.
Creators of the website hope that it serve both to entertain and educate the public:
“We believe that this information can be useful for various needs (locating an airplane for personal and business purposes, or for producing computing statistics). Notably it can lead to a better public understanding of what happens above our heads.”
