Easyjet has announced it will begin operating from Leeds Bradford airport.
From 17th December 2010 to 24th April 2011, easyJet is introducing a service from Yorkshire’s biggest airport, Leeds & Bradford to Geneva, a move which should help ease the increasing queue of traffic as ski and snowboard enthusiasts head for the piste this winter.
This follows predictions by several winter holiday experts that 2010/11 will see a huge surge in demand for skiing at all levels of expertise, with thousands heading for Europe in search of sun, snow and Schnapps on the rooftops of the world. And, after the washout summer we’ve had, who can blame them!
Five new weekly flights from the UK’s largest airline will be conveniently scheduled for travellers at popular flight times and, with prices starting from as little as £23.99 (one way inc tax), you can enjoy a well-earned winter break without straining your budget. Altogether, easyJet are operating 182 flights from Leeds Bradford, creating another 28,000 seats on what promises to be a bumper season for British snow lovers.
Thanks to easyJet’s cheap flights to Geneva, you can choose from over 30 great resorts across the Alps – 20 in France, 8 in Switzerland and 3 in Italy, all within a two and a half hour’s drive from the airport.
The new flights will also provide more opportunities to attend the Freeride Tour. Established in 2008, the Tour is rapidly growing in popularity, attracting big name competitors to a series of thrilling snowboard and ski events across famous resorts such as St Moritz and Verbier. It starts at Chamonix on the 22nd January 2011 and finishes on 19th March 2011 in Verbier.
